Felipe Valenzuela has already proven himself to be one of Chile’s most exciting new electronic music talents. He joined Cadenza’s roster in 2010, and since then he has showcased his unique club sound across the world.

Felipe was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, and has been close to music since his early youth. At the age of 8 he started classical piano lessons, and when he was in his teens where he nourished himself with music from bands like Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk. It was at this point that he began experimenting with synthesizers and learned about composition and arrangement. By 1998, his passion for music took a turn and he projected his interest towards other musical trends closer to Detroit techno, Chicago house, and its derivatives. This interest led to DJing, and in 2002 he began a DJ career. Nowadays, he is accustomed to performing in some of the world’s hottest clubs and electronic music festivals alongside renowned international talent.

By 2006, Felipe was regularly releasing his own music fueled by his passion for electronic music, and aided by an education in computer engineering and sound. His music has since reached respected record labels like Cadenza, SAW Recordings, Metroline, Room 9, Sound Architecture, Andes Music, Fumakilla, Safari electronique and Remake music, and his tracks have been played and supported by some of the biggest DJs in the world, including Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Loco Dice and Laurent Garnier.

Felipe runs the label Melisma Records with his friend and collaborator Dani Casarano (the pair have collaborated a number of times for Cadenza). Melisma explores the finest points in house, deep house and techno, and has a clear and strong aesthetic that leads the imprint in its evolution - release after release. In the underground circuits it is a highly respected imprint. Melisma has released work from Artists like Markus Fix, Alex Kid, Felipe Venegas, Cesar Merveille, Tolga Fidan, Lee Van Dowski, Arnaud Le Texier, Alex picone, Just to name some of and alongside list of collaborators in this family label.

This year, Felipe Valenzuela has expanded the Melisma imprint with releases from Satoshi Tomiie, and remixes from Ryan Crosson and Valentino Kanzyani in melisma limited only vinyl sub label. This 2012 he has also released remixes on Andes Music, and produced an ep in Satoshi Tomiie`s label SAW Recordings. He also most recently co-produced one of Cadenza's 2012 hits - 'Hole In The Middle', in collaboration with Dani Casarano and Demian Muller.
