Title track, ‘Bufalo’, is a booming, sub bass heavy, jackathon, a track that was road-tested throughout the Cadenza Summer season in Ibiza, and finally out for release. An orgy of drums and percussion, with some intricate and clever arrangement, Bufalo offers so much more than a DJ tool as the track rises and builds against a backdrop of street ambience and sharp stabs.
‘Faddu’ is a more minimal affair, once again relying on a heavy sub bassline to keep the forward motion. Nifty drum programming and a killer groove are all that’s needed here. The EP is rounded off nicely with ‘Dejohnette’, an energetic and decidedly jazzy track, and one that twistes and turns at every corner, really showcasing Felipe’s natural ability to produce interesting and intricate dance music.
